Guidelines for a Safe and Pleasurable Experience

Please read ALL safety tips before burning your candles!

As with all candles, Candela Candles may pose a fire hazard if they are used improperly. For the best results, burn a candle for no more than 4 hours at a time. With proper use and care, your new candle will bring you many hours of pleasure!

  • KEEP CANDLES OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS! Non-burning candles also should be out of the reach of children as scented wax smells delicious, and children and pets may not know the difference between candle wax & food.
  • THE FIRST TIME YOU BURN YOUR CANDLE IS IMPORTANT! Try to burn your candle long enough to get the wax pool out to about 1/4" from the edge of the candle. To do this, burn your Candela Candle for 3-1/2 to 4 hours.
  • KEEP YOUR WICKS TRIMMED TO 1/8" before every lighting. If your candle has burned unevenly due to a draft or a wick that hasn't been trimmed, you may need to blow the candle out and start over at a later time once it's cooled down, and you trim the wick. This should help the candle repair itself.
  • ALWAYS KEEP A BURNING CANDLE WITHIN SIGHT! Extinguish all candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep.
  • NEVER TOUCH OR MOVE A BURNING CANDLE, when the wax is molten, or if the candle was recently lit.
  • ALWAYS BURN CANDLES IN A WELL-VENTILATED ROOM! Do NOT burn too many candles in a small room or in a "tight" home where air exchange is limited.
  • ALWAYS USE A CANDLEHOLDER SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED FOR CANDLE USE! The holder should be heat-resistant. Place the candle on a stable and level, HEAT-RESISTANT surface. This will also help prevent possible heat damage to underlying surfaces and prevent glass containers from cracking or breaking.
  • NEVER BURN A CANDLE ON OR NEAR ANYTHING THAT CAN CATCH FIRE! Burn container candles only on a heat-resistant surface. Do NOT place a burning candle next to any flammable items such as drapes, paper, books, carpets, bedding, curtains, lamp shades, etc.
  • NEVER USE A CANDLE AS A NIGHT LIGHT!
  • KEEP THE WAX POOL FREE OF WICK TRIMMINGS, MATCHES, AND DEBRIS AT ALL TIMES! Always read and follow the manufacturer's use and safety instructions carefully. Do NOT burn a candle longer than the manufacturer recommends.
  • DISCARD YOUR CANDLE WHEN THERE IS LESS THAN 1/4" OF WAX REMAINING to prevent any damage to surfaces, pets, or people. Burning to the end may cause the candleholder or glass to shatter.
  • To extend your cord, never use water, which can cause the hot wax to spatter. Only use a candle to snuff, as opposed to blowing them out. Blowing out your candles may allow lit pieces of wick to land on something that is flammable!

NEVER LEAVE A BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED!
